Our grad scheme. Every year, we find around 6 to 8 of the nicest and brightest grads and offer them a full-time job (with no end date) in one of three departments. The training will officially begin in September 2017 (although there’s usually the option to start earlier if you’re free and would like to). You'll spend your first six weeks undergoing intensive training, experiencing every aspect of how any agency runs through a combination of shadowing, presentations, offsite trips and working on your own pitch. After that, we’ll let you loose on client teams and you’ll continue to learn on the job as an account executive, junior strategist or junior project manager. To hear it from the people who have done it, check out our Academy film.
Absolutely! It's different from the grad schemes that some agencies offer because ours has no end-date. It's not a 6 or 12-month placement, we really do hope you'll stay with us for years! Our CEO, Ian Pearman, joined on our grad scheme - and we still haven’t been able to get rid of him!
You either need to be in your final year of university or have already graduated. We don't mind what university you have been to, what course you have studied (you definitely don't need to have a degree in Advertising, Marketing or Business) or where in the world you come from (as long as you are legally allowed to work in the UK!). We want to hear from you.
Definitely. We frequently use Twitter to remind everyone about the key dates (deadlines, Open Days, when applications open, etc). Our current grads (who were in your shoes this time last year!) are also going to be taking over the feed, tweeting snapshots of their training, fun nights out, etc. https://twitter.com/amvacademy
Yes, absolutely. Each year, lots of our successful 'grads' have actually already graduated by the time they apply. Some have even been working in the industry (or other industries) for a couple of years. So it definitely won’t count against you.
I’ve applied before and didn’t get in. Can I apply again?
Of course. We've had graduates who were unsuccessful one year and got in the next, so there’s no reason not to. Why not take a look at our tips film to see how you can make your application even stronger than before?
I’ve submitted my application but think I could do a better job. Can I change my answers?
Yes you can. You should have received two emails - one when you start your application, and one when you submit the full form. They both include a link to your online application, where you can amend your answers. Whichever application you submit last will replace your previous one. The email will come from firstname.lastname@example.org, so check your junk folder if you can't find it.
If you make it through to our interview stage, you’ll be invited in on one of the following days: Wednesday 23rd, Thursday 24th or Friday 25th November. This year, the final round interviews will be held all day on Friday 2nd December.
The nearest stations are Southwark, London Bridge and Blackfriars; all of which are approx. 5 - 10 minute walk away. Google Maps can sometimes be a bit deceptive when you type in our address, so best to search for 'Vapiano Southwark'.
Hopefully you can see from the videos that we’re a fairly smart-casual agency. Shirts and smart jeans are absolutely fine for boys. If in doubt though, remember no one will ever tell you off for being too smart!
I can’t make the final round interview day, should I still apply?
The final round interview day is the most important part of the process for us, so - should you impress at the first round of interviews - you must be able to attend on Friday 2nd December or we unfortunately wouldn’t be able to consider you for our grad scheme. Please bear this mind when applying – it may even be worth blocking that date out in your calendar right now, just to be safe.
I only have a student VISA, can you help me arrange a work one?
We are unable to provide assistance in securing a visa for applicants, so you need to have the right to work permanently in the UK in order to apply for the graduate scheme. As we are part of the BBDO network with agencies in 93 countries around the world, we would recommend applying to your local agency instead if you’re anxious about not being able to legally work in the UK.
If I'm successful, could I defer my start date by a year (so I start in September 2018)?
Unfortunately not. We cannot offer deferred places on our grad scheme - you need to be willing and able to start on (or earlier than) September 2017 to be considered for this year's intake. However, we run the scheme annually - so if you'd like some time off, absolutely take it and just apply this time next year!
By submitting an application, you accept that AMV BBDO may need to process personal data about you and consents to us processing such data for any purpose connected with the application. All data supplied is submitted and stored through our secure and encrypted database. If you require further information, please contact email@example.com
Who can I get in touch with for any more questions?
Arthur, Max and Liv are your AMV Academy team who are here to answer any questions, and will be there throughout the application process. If you need any more information either tweet us @AMVAcademy, or send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and one of us will get back to you as soon as we can.
How do I get in to the creative department at AMV?
We do not hire creatives or designers via the AMV Academy. Creative directors Toby and Jim run AMV Hatch instead, a recruitment scheme to identify and nurture the next generation of creative talent. Click on the 'Creative Placements' tab (top right) to find out more about this.
